NEW FOR 2012: A LIL' SOMETHING FUN FOR FELLOW DOG LOVERS - "A SUSAN-A-DAY"

Last month my friend & fellow photographer, Kate Noelle Kernutt of Kate Noelle Photography suggested I do a lil' something new for 2012... We all know I love photographing food, as well as landscapes, motorcycles and Americana.  But, another favorite subject of mine is dogs.

Our 3 Dogs: Susan the English Bulldog, with her sidekicks, Rose & Percy the Pugs
My husband & I have three dogs - two pugs, named Rose & Percy, and an English Bulldog, named the oh-so-appropriate name of Susan (my husband felt it was best to name her a human name, so when guests came over we could say, "Have you met Susan yet?" And, then in would walk a 45-pound wrinkly bulldog.)

All three are very, very funny - and very cute.  And Susan is particularly so.  So, Kate suggested I pull together a Tumblr blog featuring a daily photo of Susan's adorable-ness.  Hence, "A Susan-a-Day" Blog was launched on January 1st - and for 2012 I'll be bringing you 366 days (it's a Leap Year, after all!) of Susan (and her sidekicks, Rose & Percy). Because we all can benefit from a daily smile courtesy of Susan's adorable English Bulldog mug.

SNEAK PEEK - SANTIAGO OAKS CHRISTMAS CARD SESSION

This afternoon was one of those magical, blistery Southern California winter days that was all-too-perfect for a Christmas Card session with my friend, Natalie Good of A Good Affair Wedding & Event Production, her husband Jason and their two adorable dachshund pups, Maggie & Piper. We had so much fun venturing down the canyon at Santiago Oaks Regional Park in Orange on a mission to capture some holiday-card-worthy shots (complete with hand-knit scarves that were custom-made for the dogs, of course!).  Below is a small selection of sneak-peek pics -- stay tuned for the full blog post with more photos coming soon!...

ONE COOL CAT

Those who know me know that I'm not much of a cat person. But, I have made one exception to this rule... that's my brother and sister-in-law's cat, Penelope. Or, as I call her, "Peen-o-lope."  I like this cat.

This is not your average cat - unlike most cats I've met, Peen-o-lope does not try to bite you at random or lash out in any terrifying, unexpected way when you pet her or pick her up.

And man, oh man, is she fluffy.

So, I was honored when my brother Jeff Clinard recently enlisted my services to conduct a lil' photo shoot so he could surprise his new wife, Jamie, on her birthday last month with some portraits of their pal Penelope.  I must say, kitty was QUITE the little model!
